DAVE. For real estate in the Alberni Valley, it's the only name you need to
know. One of Canada's top-ranked RE/MAX Realtors, Dave was born and raised in
the Valley, and he's been a consistent performer since obtaining his license in
1993, at the advanced age of twenty. He's a member of the Diamond Club and has
already earned the Lifetime Achievement Award and has been inducted into the
RE/MAX Hall of Fame.
More to the point, Dave is also a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS)
and a member of the RE/MAX commercial division, so whatever you're looking for,
he'll find it for you. On his time off, Dave has made a name for himself
nationally as a hard-charging performance rally driver, with his most recent
event the 2007 Targa Newfoundland. He lives on Sproat Lake with his family.
Assisting Dave is his enthusiastic and hardworking team:
Randi Clayton, Licensed Assistant - When the sales are coming fast and furious,
Dave has a Secret
Weapon to keep everything running smoothly. Executive Assistant
Randi Clayton, has provided front-line support for 13 years and has been a
licensed RE/MAX agent since January, 2006. That's important, because while it's
Dave's name on the door, Randi is usually the first person you're going to speak
to, and she manages the day-to-day operations of the office. Born in Vancouver,
Randi moved to the Alberni Valley with her family after a number of years as a
legal assistant at a major downtown law firm. Because of her legal background,
she enjoys assisting clients through the legalese of the real estate
process. She's known as the office tecchie, and like the entire Dave Koszegi
team, strives to stay current on all the latest industry technology and trends.
Deb Burton, Unlicensed Assistant - Deb Burton is the newest member of the Dave
Koszegi Team. It is Debbie’s responsibility to process all of the Team’s
listings from start to finish. When you choose to sell your house with Dave’s
Team, Debbie personally takes responsibility of ensuring that you receive 100%
satisfaction, with how your property is being showcased. Debbie will photograph
your home, yard and gardens. She will do the write up, place your home in all
print ads, and websites. Debbie will contact you for appointments and provide
you with feedback to all showings. She is always available, and happy and eager
to help! Deb's enthusiasm for her job shines through and is appreciated by
clients, co-workers and Realtors alike!
Captain Mark Andrade - Captain Mark is the team member who makes all those For
Sale and Sold signs magically appear and disappear. Signage is a key part of
marketing your home, and if the job calls for some custom work, Mark,
the Sign
Guy, is the man who gets it done. After serving 7 years with the
Toronto Police Department, Mark obtained his commercial pilot's license and
spent 25 years as a bush pilot, flying in and out of Port Alberni. In addition
to his sign duties, Mark works in property management.
Claire Storie - Claire is often described as persistent, but not pushy. Her
gentle guidance in any real estate transaction is appreciated by all. She has
recently obtained her SRES (Senior's Real Estate Specialist) designation. She
has helped many clients relocate to their dream. Port Alberni has miles of ocean
front, three marina's, and lots of boating activites. The temperate climate
allows for a long golfing season at one of two golf courses. There is a new, up
to date hospital in Port. The library has also been recently updated. The Dave
Team has several new housing developments to choose from. Would you like a main
level condo with full maintenance services, a modular on a pad, or single family
rancher? Call us today for free Buyer's kit. As a full service Realtor, Claire
will pick you up the old fashioned way, and show you the home you've been
waiting for.
"Dave
Koszegi of RE/MAX is so well known in resurgent Port Alberni real estate, his
For Sale signs just say DAVE. In Port Alberni, at nearly 6'6", he's literally a
huge presence. Koszegi's name is emblazoned all over his vehicle. He's the guy
that hires a truck, complete with flashing lights, to make a promotional
ceremony out of sign installations. He's also the guy that as you stand and
talk with him, people honk and wave (and he waves back). - Drew
Harris, Business Vancouver Island.
PORT ALBERNI – A GREAT PLACE TO
LIVE …
Just a scenic half hour drive from Parksville or Qualicum Beach and about an
hour drive from the Nanaimo BC Ferry terminal, you will find the beautiful
Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island. Port Alberni is the gateway to Vancouver
Island’s Pacific Rim region and with the increased popularity of Pacific Rim
National Park Reserve, Barkley Sound and Clayoquot Sound, and the incredible
sport fishing available, more and more visitors are coming to Port Alberni.
Port Alberni is an energetic
community and is known as the “City with a Heart”. The population is 20,000 and
has services second to none for a community of similar size. There’s North
Island College, which offers both academic and vocational courses, as well as
the popular Elder College.
There’s a world-class running
track at Bob Dailey Stadium, brand new multi-plex arena, lawn bowling, curling,
skating, library, swimming pool, a new full service hospital, transit services
and churches of all denominations. You’ll also find plenty of parks, an 18 hole
and an executive golf course and the best fishing in Canada!
A temperate west coast climate
and a small town character with all the amenities make Port Alberni an
attractive place to live. Yet the best kept secret is the varied and affordable
housing with a full range of available housing at perhaps the most reasonable
prices of any British Columbia community offering such a variety of services and
amenities.
THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN PORT
ALBERNI …
As the “Salmon Capital of the World”, Port Alberni and surrounding areas offer
anglers outstanding fishing opportunities year round. An abundance of salmon,
trout, steelhead and halibut abound in Barkley Sound, the protected waters of
Alberni Inlet and the many lakes, streams and rivers in the Valley. The Alberni
Inlet and the Somass/Stamp River system make up the migration route for hundreds
of thousands of mature salmon swimming to their spawning grounds. Some of the
Chinook salmon weigh in excess of 60 pounds.
Port Alberni offers two
excellent golf courses to challenge the golfer – an executive nine hole course
and a regulation 18 hole club. Facilities at both courses include a licensed
lounge, snack bar, fully stocked pro shop, rentals and practice area. Both
feature natural settings with breathtaking views of Mount Arrowsmith and the
Beaufort range as well as a very relaxed friendly atmosphere.
On summer days enjoy a ride
along the harbour aboard the steam engine Alberni Pacific Ltd. Baldwin 2-8-2 T
(saddle tank) located at the restored E & N Railway Station at the entrance to
the Alberni Harbour Quay. A powerful engine which carries its own on-board water
in a 1,000 gallon tank, the 90-tonne Baldwin is called Number Seven, as it was
when it was built in 1929. Departures are from the restored 1912 Port Alberni
Railway Station at the Gateway to Alberni Harbour Quay.
MV Lady Rose and MV Frances
Barkley cruise from Port Alberni to the West Coast daily during the summer
months. These are real working ships, carrying cargo and passengers to Bamfield,
Ucluelet and other remote communities along the route. Cruising through the
Alberni Inlet, passengers enjoy a multitude of wildlife in its natural setting,
including soaring bald eagles, black bears, inquisitive sea lions, gray whales
and orcas.
The McLean Mill Historic Site is
the best surviving example of a steam sawmill in Canada and has been designated
as the site to commemorate the British Columbia Forest Industry. Since opening
July 1, 2000 the McLean Mill has become a high quality tourist attraction. The
buildings, equipment and vehicles have all been restored and rehabilitated to
give visitors the realistic feel, sounds, sights and smells of a working steam
sawmill.
Nature enthusiasts delight in
Stamp Falls and Sproat Lake Provincial Parks, as well as at Robertson Creek
where, after a visit to the hatchery, visitors can walk the trails in the
surrounding area. Other trails include the Log Train Trail, Roger Creek and
Southgate. Kitsuksis Creek Walkway is an enchanting short evening walk within
city limits where one can still enjoy the feeling of being close to nature.
